According to a recent British poll, people are getting so enthusiastic about making love, it actually hurts.

We're not talking about S&M here, just ordinary, energetic sex. The poll, conducted by an adult store chain, found that of 2,000 lovers, nearly half suffered carpet burns, a third strained their backs, and another third either twisted their wrists or actually broke bones.

Here's a breakdown of the most popular injuries:

(3) Wrist twists

(4) Ankle turns

(5) Butt bruises

(6) Leg bruises

(7) Elbow scrapes

(8) Back scratches

(9) Head whacks

(10) Bone breaks

Not content with merely damaging themselves and each other, rambunctious couples cause some 350-million pounds' worth of damage (nearly $675-million US) each year. One in ten of those polled had filed insurance claims for trashed property, like beds, vases, and lamps.
